Born in Varese on 6 March 1939.

He is a businessman and for more than thirty years in the field of professional services and management and organisational consultancy.

He is a trainer, conducting courses and seminars for entrepreneurs and managers and is a frequent government adviser for the management and organisation of public administration.

From 1985 to 1989 he was promoter and chairman of the National Federation of Advanced Tertiary Sector.

From 1980 to 1982 he was chairman of the Italian National Association of Business and Management Consultants.

In 1970 he founded and continues to manage Sin&rgetica, a leading Italian business and management consultancy with clients in the business, banking and insurance sectors, as well as public bodies and administrations.

He has been nominated Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Republic.

He is currently deputy chairman of the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala, and a non-executive director of Mediaset SpA, Anonima Petroli Italiana SpA, Arnoldo Mondadori Editore SpA, Mediolanum SpA. and Fininvest SpA.
