COURT CONFIRMS THE BASIS OF MEDIASET'S OPPOSITION

The sentence of an administrative court regarding equal airtime rules has confirmed the difference between commercial and state broadcasters and therefore the basis of Mediaset's opposition.

Moreover, the principle has been re-established whereby programme of "political news" are different from those of "political communication" which is precisely what Mediaset wanted reaffirmed.

From an editorial point of view, Mediaset will now responsibly decide how to proceed, compatibly with the forthcoming elections and the consequent lack of space available for balanced and complete coverage.
